Heidi’s passion for Birth Photography began with the birth of her nieces and nephews. Always passionate about photography in her personal life, and being honored to photograph the intimate moments of family members' births, she found her calling as a Birth Worker/Photographer. Being able to capture those candid moments while supporting laboring parents became a favorite part of the birth process for Heidi.
In 2018, Heidi began offering Birth Photography outside of her family. Trained in compassionate Birth Doula support, allowing Heidi a specific insight to the birthing process which enables her to anticipate a special moment or prepare for capturing the intimacy of birth. Photographing births in various birthing locations, including the operating room, Heidi knows how to capture your birthing process with out disturbances or interfering with your birth team. Documenting your birth story is such a special honor and Heidi does her best to document it as realistic as it is while capturing that ideal shareable moment.
No flash is used during your birth, which Heidi has found sometimes to be disruptive to your story. Joining the laboring parent during active labor until a couple hours postpartum allows the family to be present and in the moment and Heidi documents this time with as little interference as possible. Heidi is excited and honored to capture these precious, once in a lifetime moments for families.
